Former Member of Parliament for Nandon, Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, has stated that, the current NPP administration's poor perfomance is far worse than former President John Agyekum Kufuor
According to him, even with an economist as the vice president, the Akufo-Addo administration is nothing to write home about.
Speaking on TV3′s New Day on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 he stated that a president does not necessarily need a vice who has economics background in order to perform.

“Who told you that in this country you must choose a running mate who has economic background? Every single rational NPP member will tell you that the Kufuor’s administration performed better than this disaster under the Akufo-Addo," he said.
Murtala Mohammed said, the choice of Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang as running mate was an good decision and would help the NDC to victory come December 2020.
His comments comes after Chief Executive Officer of the Micro Finance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC), Stephen Amoah said the vice president is the head of the economic management team hence one must have an economics background to be able to effectively manage the economy well.

In other news, The NDC flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama has accused President Akufo-Addo of supervising chaos in his party and country.
The former president alleges that Akufo-Addo is watching unconcerned as some members of his party attack innocent people at a registration center at Dormaa over the weekend.
The Daily Graphic Newspaper reported that during the Electoral Commission’s mob up exercise on August 8 and 9 an incident happened at a Dormaa center were gunshots were fired.
