Star actress, Nana Ama McBrown, has opened up about how she was emotionally affected when she was not having a child.

The renowned actress, after getting married, was expecting a child but it was not forthcoming.

As it has been a norm in Ghana, a woman is always expected to have babies the moment she gets married. But for McBrown, she had to endure lots of pain when she was not seeing her child.

In an interview monitored by YEN.com.gh on GH One TV, the actress narrated how she went through emotional trauma.

According to McBrown, her dream was to have a child at age 20 but that never happened.

McBrown said she couldn't take it whenever she saw people playing with their own kids. She then said she had to talk to strangers about her predicament.

However, with God on her side, Nana Ama McBrown got pregnant and delivered a beautiful girl in February 2019 in Canada.

McBrown's daughter is popularly known on social media as Baby Maxin and she is the most followed celebrity kid in the country.

Meanwhile, Nana Ama McBrown has opened up on why she decided to change her birth name to a new name.

According to McBrown, when she first entered the entertainment industry she realised that people found it hard to pronounce her previous name, Felicity Ama Agyemang, so after she was adopted by her father she decided to change it to Nana Ama Mcbrown.

She also stressed that the name change has been very beneficial to her.

Speaking on how she became an actress, McBrown said:

"It has always been my dream to be an actress so when I met some producers I went to them to become a costume designer on the set. I knew how to drive so it was an added advantage. When the director got to know that I could drive, he gave me my first movie role where I acted as an armed robber."
