Fire explosion: Parts of Shiashie gutted by fire; over 100 properties affected (video)

Reports reaching YEN.com.gh indicate that some parts of Shiashie and East Legon have been rocked by a fire explosion which has caused massive damage.

The sad incident occurred in the late hours of Friday, August 14, 2020, and it caused power outage in the affected areas

According to reports, the explosion rocked the plush neighbourhood in Accra between 11pm and 1am and razed down a number of properties.

According to eyewitnesses, some 100 wooden structures popularly known as kiosks, were totally destroyed by the raging fire.

Reports also have it that some concerned neighbours called the fire service who rushed to the scene immediately to assist in dousing the fire.

Videos sighted by YEN.com.gh on social media showed an electricity pole and wires furiously burning as residents screamed and feared for their properties.

All the while, the fire service was on the ground trying to coordinate to put out the inferno.

The cause of the explosion is still unknown as at the time the report was being filed.
