Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has been named as the Premier League player of the season.

De Bruyne who was the only City player nominated for the award has had his best season since joining the Citizens in 2015 where he equalled the league assist record set by Thierry Henry in 2003 by assisting 20 goals.
Apart from the assists, he scored 13 times to help City finish as the division's highest scorers for the third successive season.

The Belgian beat off competition from Liverpool trio of Jordan Henderson, Sadio Mane and Trent Alexander-Arnold, Southampton striker Danny Ings, Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope and Leicester's Golden Boot winner Jamie Vardy.
Liverpool's defender Alexander-Arnold won the Young Player of the Season award with manager Jurgen Klopp winning the award for Premier League Manager of the Season.
YEN.com.gh earlier reported that Andre Onana who plays as a goalkeeper for Dutch side Ajax has won the hearts of many football fans after providing electricity for his mother's hometown of Mengueme in Cameroon.
People of Mengueme are said to have been living in darkness since the creation of the community as they have been using kerosene lamps.
According to Actu Cameroon, Andre Onana had the intention of bringing electricity to the town since he started his football career.
