Video from 2001 shows how Mahama grilled Nana Addo during vetting

- A video that was taken during a vetting in parliament in 2001 has surfaced ahead of the 2020 general elections

- The footage starred the current flagbearers of the leading political parties in Ghana, as the sitting president, Akufo-Addo, was being vetted for the position of Attorney General

A 19-year-old video that was taken during a vetting process in 2001 had the current leaders of the two major political parties in Ghana, engage in a serious conversation.

In the video that was sighted by YEN.com.gh on the personal YouTube handle of renowned journalist, Paul Adom-Otchere, sitting President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo was being vetted for the position of Attorney General.

As the process demanded, Nana Addo was required to be questioned during the vetting process by a committee that included the current NDC flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama.

In the video, Mahama was keen on making sure that Nana Addo was in the right spirit to hold the position for which he was being vetted for at the time.

John Dramani Mahama referred to a moment in the sitting of parliament when Nana Addo was captured walking out of the house in response to a motion that was on the floor at the time and strictly demanded that Nana explained the motive behind his action.

As the events would later unfold, Nana Akufo-Addo's vetting was successful and he became the Attorney General from 2001 to April 2003.

Meanwhile, as Ghana builds up to the general elections in December 2020, different political issues keep occupying the trends on social media.

On Twitter, YEN.com.gh has sighted a many posts under the hashtag "TrustAkufoAddo" listing the biggest achievements of the sitting president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

These posts seem to suggest that Nana has performed very well in his first time of office and should be given another four years in office.
