Meet Amazon's new vice president; the first Black woman to occupy the high position

High-achieving Black lady, Alicia Boler Davis, has been elected into a position at Amazon that no Black woman has ever occupied in the company's 26-year history.

According to a report gathered by YEN.com.gh chiefly from Blackbusiness.com, it is indicated that Davis becomes Amazon's Senior Vice President of Global Customer Fulfillment.

She was appointed in line with and as part of the renewed efforts for more inclusivity in the world-renowned company.

Prior to the groundbreaking role, Davis served as the head of global manufacturing at General Motors Company before joining Amazon in 2019.

From now, the brilliant Black woman will be responsible for the worldwide network of over 175 Amazon fulfilment centres across 16 countries.

In addition, she will lead the worldwide network of Customer Service operations and technology, as well as the Sustainability, Product Safety, Security and Product Compliance teams.

With that, Davis has also become the first African American and fourth female to join Amazon's prestigious S-team, a group of executives that advises its CEO, Jeff Bezos, which had previously been largely consisted of white males.

In a separate report, Penellia-Riis Akorfa Vedzesu, as her full name goes, is a stunning young midwife in Ghana who is striving relentlessly and admirably in myriads of fields of endeavour.

In an exclusive interview with YEN.com.gh, the beautiful midwife revealed that she an author of two fiction books, The Blunder and Trauma of Transition amid several other hustles.

According to the young midwife, who also does obstetric and reproductive health consultation for ladies online, she recently completed a make-up programme as well.
