29-year-old Ghanaian turns containers into movable isolation centres for infected patients

Ato Nunoo, a 29-year-old contractor in Ghana has come up with a brilliant innovation to help in the fight against COVID-19 and other infectious diseases that require patients to be isolated.

In a video report sighted by YEN.com.gh on the official Facebook handle of TV3 Ghana, the gentleman showcased a sample of movable isolation centres that he is building using containers.

A quick tour inside the facility shows hospital beds that are set in a comfortable space adorned with TV, air-conditioner, fridge and other elements that ensure the highest level of solace.

A CCTV camera has also been fitted near the bed area so that health workers, wherever they may be, can always keep an eye on the patients in the isolation centres.

The facility also comes with its own washroom whose surfaces are specially made to ensure easy disinfection and maximum hygiene conditions for that matter.

According to the contractor, the unit was built within a space of 14 days and also meets all safety guidelines outlined by WHO as it is stuffed with fire extinguishers, although most of the materials used are fire resistant by themselves.

Nunoo further indicates that his facilities can be easily converted into laboratories, consulting rooms, restrooms for healthcare workers, a residence for patients' visitors and many others.

In a separate report by YEN.com.gh, some residents in the Oti Region of Ghana have narrated that a road that was labelled by the government as completed is actually in a bad shape.

The video report by JoyNews sighted by YEN.com.gh indicates that the particular road which leads to Kadjebi was one of the roads captured as reshaped and completed in the project tracker by the government.

One of the motor riders who usually used the road said: "This road has been in its bad state for the past two years and there was no work done on it, so as you yourself can see, if they say they have rehabilitated it, then I don't think it is true".
