COVID-19: Ghana’s death toll is now 270; active cases at 1,604

The latest update from the Ghana Health Service indicates that 270 people have died so far in Ghana from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Nine persons had died on August 25, 2020, to send the death toll up.

The GHS data also showed that 95 new cases have been recorded sending the total case count to 43,717.

The report further revealed that a total of 41,843 patients have recovered from the disease.

Meanwhile, Ghana’s active cases are 1,604.

Since the outbreak of the novel Coronavirus in Ghana in March 2020, a total of 436,253 have been conducted.

Currently, four regions have no active cases.

These regions are North East, Upper East, Upper West, and the Savannah regions.

YEN.com.gh earlier reported that the All Peoples Congress (APC) has endorsed, Hassan Ayariga as the party's flagbearer for the 2020 election.

He has promised to give free dialysis treatment for kidney patients.

Mr. Ayariga opined that this intervention will support patients and families who have to pay for expensive treatment.
