Old love is the sweetest, and this Durham couple proves it. Jack and his wife, Gerry Eccles, have been married for 70 years. They recently celebrated the momentous occasion surrounded by their large family.
Besides 9 children, 20 grand-children and 24 great-grand children, the pair also had a cake and a picture of the two of them the day they first decided to say "I do" to celebrate the amazing milestone.
All of this took place via a Zoom meeting on a phone held up by the couple's daughter by a window outside the Hillcrest Convalescent Center, a nursing home which is currently under lockdown due to COVID-19.
According to, The Western Journal, this moment almost didn’t take place.
In the article, the writer explains that the centre where Gerry lives shut down on March 12 and stopped allowing visitors. 93-year-old Jack didn't let that get in the way of seeing his bride. The very next day Jack packed up his things and rented a room at the nursing home.
“We’re married,” he explained. “I want to be with her. She took care of me for 70 years, and now it’s my turn.”
It was also reported that cooperation among people usually provides positive results, and this is why China introduces the concept of cooperation in training their children from kindergarten stage.
A video has emerged on social media in which a group of Chinese kids could be seen engaging in a game of cooperation. In the video, a group of kindergarten kids could be seen playing a game of cooperation with balls, which they passed around as they maintained a big circle.
The video has shown how China believes in the power of cooperation, which obviously explains why the country is one of those excelling in the field of technology and other areas of human endeavour.
Meanwhile, some 'classy' Ghanaian girls have seriously bashed a boy who approached them in an attempt to win them over with an approach the girls considered inappropriate.
In a video that was spotted by YEN.com.gh on the personal Twitter handle of Jason_gh1, the girls were outraged as they tried to show the young man his 'right place'.
The outrage hit its peak when the gentleman claimed that the girls were stressing him by deciding to be quite tough.
