Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, says whether he will take over from his boss, President Nana Akufo-Addo or not, is in the hands of the Almighty God.

According to the veep, he is focused on his work as vice president for now and is not thinking about becoming president for now.

Bawumia made the comment while responding to the question “Would you like to succeed your boss one day?” during an interview on Peace FM on August 26, 2020.

Dr. Bawumia simply said:

"It’s in God’s hands. I’m very happy working for my boss, he is a great boss and that is all I am thinking about . . . I’m focused on my work . . . I’m very happy with what I m doing . . . with the opportunity to bring real change to the lives of people to support the vision of the President Nana Akufo-Addo.”

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has been tipped by some political pundits to take over from his boss, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo after the end of his term of office.

He also answered questions and clarified some of the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) manifesto promises during the interview.

The NPP has, among other things, promised to build a harbour and ultra-modern airport in Cape Coast, and set up large recording studios in Accra, Kumasi, Tamale, and Takoradi.

The manifesto has since been criticised by the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), who described it as deceptive and disappointing.

YEN.com.gh earlier reported that Vice President, Mahamudu Bawumia, has taken a dig at the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, again.

According to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) politician, the NDC leader did nothing for the youth of Ghana during the eight years he had been in office as Vice President under the late Atta Mills, and as President later on.
