Woman in her 50s left with injuries after accusation of practising witchcraft in Savanna Region
- A Ghanaian woman in her 50s named Maria Ibrahim has been left with skull injuries after she was accused of being a witch
- Maria Ibrahim mentioned that she denied the accusation vehemently but that did not stop her from being attacked by the men

Maria Ibrahim, a Ghanaian woman in her late 50s in the West Gonja District of the Savanna Region has been beaten over an accusation of her being a witch.
According to a report by myjoyonline.com, the middle-aged woman was attacked by a group of men who claimed she was responsible for an ailment that a young man in her house suffered.
The incident that left Maria with serious skull injuries, occurred on the evening of Saturday, August 29, 2020, at Sumpini after the Bugum festival celebration in the area.

Maria Ibrahim, who was attacked with machetes, indicated that she vehemently denied the accusation but that did not stop the men from inflicting wounds on her.
‘Although I denied it, they pursued and attacked me with machetes,’ she said.
A girl who lives with the woman and her sick husband was also attacked in the rather unfortunate incident.

Meanwhile, YEN.com.gh earlier reported that a video surfaced online, showing the final moments of Akua Mariama Denteh, the 90-year-old lady who was mob-attacked at Kafaba in the Gonja East Municipality.
It would be recalled that the old lady was attacked by the Kafaba locals over an alleged was suspicion that she was a witch responsible for the retrogression of the community.
