A member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) communications team, Asafo Adjei, wants NDC flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama to also legalise prostitution if he wants to create jobs for the youth.

The former president has been promising a lot of things to Ghanaians ahead of the NDC’s manifesto launch.

One of his promises has received mixed reactions from Ghanaians and political opponents.

John Mahama said he will make the operation of motorbikes popularly known as Okada legal when he comes to power again.

He made this promise while on a campaign tour of Kpando, in the Volta Region.

According to Mahama, the Okada business has become a means of sustenance for young people who are unemployed.

“Our law says Okada is illegal, but it is a reality it has come to stay and you can’t stop it. So, I say when we come into office, we legalise it but we will regulate it,” he noted.

But in a radio discussion on Neat FM, Monday, August 31, NPP communicator, Asafo Adjei opined that it will be great for the NDC flagbearer to also make prostitution legal.

“I am not against Okada; it is one of the affordable means of transportation but what will you gain if you promise to legalise Okada?

Should we clap for you? Does legalising it means you have purchased motorbikes for those interested?

Is this a policy from a former president? He has not changed nor learned his lessons…(in that case) then tell former President Mahama to legalise prostitution because they are more than the Okada riders. Legalize prostitution and let us know that you are creating jobs,” he told the NDC flagbearer.
