Highlife sensation, Kuami Eugene, after winning the prestigious ‘Artiste Of The Year’ at the just ended Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA), has stated that the award should have gone to Kofi Kinaata or Medikal.
In an interview on Citi FM and monitored by YEN.com.gh, though he had worked hard in the year under review to get the award, he was rooting for rapper Kofi Kinaata or Medikal to win that award.
“I was rooting for Kinaata to win the Artiste of the Year besides me. I was also rooting for Medikal as well. Because Kofi Kinaata has really worked and Medikal also released back-to-back hit songs for the year. He has done the job, truth be told,” he said.
Kuami Eugene was also quick despite the perception out there that he does not decide the award, he really worked hard to earn it.
Kuami Eugene beat the likes of Sarkodie, Kofi Kinaata, Diana Hamilton, and Medikal to win the award. He also won Highlife Artiste of the Year.
YEN.com.gh earlier reported that Ghanaian female rapper, Eno Barony, had caused a stir on social media with her latest photo about who deserves to be the real Best Rapper of the Year at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).
She shared a photo of herself together with Strongman Burner dropping some serious bars at the just ended VGMA.
In a photo sighted by YEN.com.gh, Eno Barony said she and rapper Strongman Burner are the best rappers in Ghana currently, despite the fact that rapper Kwesi Arthur was adjudged the winner yesterday August 29, 2020.
The post was made to register her displeasure about the fact that she or Strongman did not win that award.
