Kofi Kinaata, the winner of VGMA Songwriter of the Year 2020, has expressed his disappointment in failing to win the ultimate Artiste of the Year Award.
Kinaata says the winner, Kuami Eugene, himself knew very well that he Kofi deserves that award and is the genuine winner.
He was reportedly speaking in an interview with Kumasi-based Luv FM, according to a report sighted by YEN.com.gh on Ghanacelebrities.com.
Kinaata said he was thrilled about winning the Songwriter of the Year Award, and expected to “win everything” that is, the Artiste of the Year.
He added that he worked hard under the year of review, and if Ghanaians could be honest enough, he should be the ultimate winner.
“Everybody knew I was going to win it, Kuami Eugene knew it and I was confident too,” a disappointed Kofi Kinaata lamented.
Meanwhile, Kuami Eugene has said that he was not expecting to win the ultimate award.
In an earlier report by YEN.com.gh, he mentioned the two musicians he expected to win the Artiste of the Year award.
Some have slammed him saying he did not deserve that award they claim rightfully belongs to Sarkodie.
One of them is Kumawood actress Maame Serwaa who said VGMA should not be taken seriously.
However, Lil Win has jumped to Kuami Eugene’s defense saying he even deserves “Artist of the World”.
