The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi-Bosiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, has exhibited how rich he is on a live TV show in Kumasi.

Chairman Wontumi on Wednesday, September 2, 2020, showed gold bars on Wontumi TV in Kumasi.

The NPP stalwart is seen in a video that has gone viral on social media, Twitter specifically, screaming “this is solid money”.

He displayed about six bars of pure gold and said if they say Wontumi has money, its not money in the bank but pure gold bars.

Chairman Wontumi used the gold bars to reiterate how wealthy he is.

The NPP man owns the mining firm, Hansol Company Limited. It is one of the top mining companies in the country.

He is on record to have said he made one million dollars at a point in time as a small scale miner.

YEN.com.gh earlier reported that a businessman, Ibrahim Mahama, has taken the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Chairman Wontumi, to court for defamation.

He is seeking damages of up to GHc5 million after Chairman Wontumi purported that he made his wealth illegally.

Speaking on Wontumi TV, the NPP Chairman alleged that Mahama was a great beneficiary to stolen government funds when his brother, John Dramani Mahama, was in power.
