Accra Mall Green Survival Pack Scheduled for 21st September

- Accra Mall Limited is to distribute packs of food and sanitary items to needy families

- Dubbed the Accra Mall Green Survival Pack, 500 households are expected to benefit from the programme when it is launched on September 21, 2020

Accra Mall Limited, Ghana’s first large-scale mall, is set to distribute food items and other essential items to needy families in a programme called the Accra Mall Green Survival Pack project.

The project which will be launched on Monday, September 21, 2020, will provide food supply and sanitation boxes for vulnerable families in the Mall's immediate catchment areas.

Organised in collaboration with Give Back Ghana, the giveaways form part of the Mall's Corporate Social Responsibility.

According to the Marketing Manager of Accra Mall, Anthony Asamoah, 500 food supply items and boxes of sanitation are going to to be distributed alongside 100 face shield for members of the beneficiary communities as part of the company's efforts to alleviate the plight of the poor within the difficult times of COVID-19

“As a brand which cares for our community, we have decided to support deprived communities with 500 essential food supply and sanitation boxes along with 1,000 face shields to residents at selected communities. This is our way of ensuring that the vulnerable are well-cared for during his period”.

Speaking to YEN.com.gh, Asamoah disclosed, the company had conducted a survey to select the beneficiary families and the items will be delivered to those homes.

“We conducted a survey in Shiashie, Spintex, Madina, Bawaleshie and Okponglo to identify struggling families who need support the most. The relief items will be delivered to individual homes to support such families.”

The Green Survival Pack initiative is one of the many such CSR programmes Accra Mall has come to be known for.

Aside from the new initiative, the Mall has been involved in many CSR activities one of which is the Future Fashion Fund.

The Future Fashion Fund which comes off every year allows young talents in the fashion industry, especially fashion designers, to showcase the talent of budding. Winners are given cash rewards and an opportunity to set up a pop-up stall at the mall.

The Accra Mall, commissioned on July 4, 2008, is one of the most modern western-style shopping centres in West Africa and the first large-scale mall in Ghana. The mall is an enclosed fully air-conditioned shopping centre. It has a retail space of 21,311 square metres with parking for over 660 cars. The Accra Mall is anchored by South African giants, Game and Shoprite and accommodates over 70-line shops, a radio station, a 5-hall cinema and 12 restaurants of which 50% are operated by Ghanaian retailers.
