Shatta Wale’s manager, Bulldog, has warned that he would be compelled to stop working with Shatta Wale if he should decide to contest for the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).
Bulldog has long held the view that the VGMA lacks credibility and must not be taken seriously.
He was speaking as a panelist on Nana Ama McBrown’s United Showbiz programme aired on UTV, as sighted in a report by YEN.com.gh on Ghanacelebrities.com.
Bulldog noted, however, that he cannot force Shatta Wale not to contest the VGMA in the future, adding that he has already warned him that if Shatta Wale does, he would just leave him to go start his farm.
“As an artist manager, my job is to counsel. But I have told him that I will go and start my farm if he decides to contest VGMA,” Bulldog warned.
Meanwhile, Shatta Wale has been banned indefinitely from contesting in the VGMA. He was banned together with his colleague and cousin Stonebwoy.
They were banned following their fight at the 2019 VGMA ceremony where Stonebwoy pulled a gun on stage. This was after Stonebwoy took the Dancehall song of the year award.
The two landed in court for their action and the case has still not been decided.
For their punishment, Chatterhouse, organisers of the VGMA decided to place an indefinite ban on them.
