Accra-Tema Motorway: One dead, others injured in collision

Information reaching YEN.com.gh indicates that one person has lost his life in an accident that occurred on the Accra-Tema Motorway

The unfortunates accident happened in the early hours of Thursday, September 10, 2020.

The accident resulted in a collision of 15 other vehicles, leaving four passengers injured in four different cars.

In a report filed by 3News, an eyewitness' who happened to be a driver of one of the affected vehicles, said the accident happened after the brakes of a Tema-bound tailor truck failed, thereby, running into other vehicles.

One of the vehicles involved is a truck filled with Club Beer and was headed for distribution.

People around who saw this as an early Christmas treat, were seen clamouring for the alcoholic drinks

The casualty, before passing was rushed to the 37 Military Hospital but lost his life upon arrival.

According to the report, several other passengers are injured but some escaped unhurt.

In other news, a commercial bus, popularly referred to as VVIP bus, has been involved in an accident.

The bus with registration number GL 527-14 was involved in the accident at Amanase near Suhum, on the Accra to Kumasi highway, killing three passengers instantly and leaving several others badly injured.

Unfortunately, the three persons that died instantly, included a four-year-old child.

The incident reportedly occurred at 5:30 am on Tuesday, September 8, 2020.

The injured were rushed to the Suhum Government hospital for treatment, 3news.com reports.

Narrating the unfortunate incident, a staff of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), said the bus, which carried 43 passengers en route to Accra from Kumasi, developed a fault which caused the accident.
