Stonebwoy's fans have stated that they will boycott Asaase Radio if organisers of the 'Asaase Soundclash' fail to present free and fair results.
The popular 'Asaase Sound Clash' is a competition put together by Asaase Radio to reignite the rivalry between Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale and seek to crown one of them the best in the Dancehall genre.
On Saturday, September 12, 2020, Asaase Radio teamed up with Svani Group Ltd - formerly known as UTC Motors - to offer one of the lucky dancehall fans the top prize which is a Mahindra KUV 100 as Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale had their battle on stage.
The chance to win the car was open to all members of the public. Fans were expected to grabbed their phones to vote for their favorite artiste between the two by dialing a short code *800*995*1# for Shatta Wale and *800*9952# for Stonebwoy.
According to the organisers, voting was scheduled to end at 8:30 PM on September 12 and a fan of the artiste who won in the polls would be driving home a brand-new Mahindra.
The fans claim that the results from the voting platform showed that Stonebwoy won the competition and, as such, a fan of the 'Putuu' singer should have won the brand-new Mahindra.
However, the receipts presented as at 8:30 pm on Saturday which were made available by the telcos, proved that Stonebwoy won in the Asaase Soundclash competition.
This, therefore, means, a “Bhim Native” or any lucky music lover who predicted Stonebwoy's win should have been cruising in the new Mahindra, but contrary to the public’s expectation, a Shatta Movement fan whose artiste, Shatta Wale, lost in the polls was presented with the vehicle.
In a Facebook post that sought to 'tell it all', Sadick recounted the grass to grace story of the BHIM boss and revealed that he moved heaven and earth to help Stonebwiy get noticed.
According to Sadick, many people did not want to associate with Stonebwoy because of his then issue with his leg.
He revealed that he used to lobby a lot for features for the Sobolo man which paid some paltry sums of around GHC 50.
Sadick added that he was not deterred but tried his best possible to get more features for the BHIM Boss.
