Wendy Shay applauds Akufo-Addo saying “he has done very well”

Self-proclaiming queen of Ghana music, Wendy Shay, has lauded President Akufo-Addo and the New Patriotic Party government for what she describes as a great performance.

She said she is impressed with the president’s performance so far, especially, his many policies that keep improving the lives of Ghanaians.

Wendy Shay, for instance, mentioned the free SHS policy which she noted that many Ghanaians have benefitted from.

She was reportedly speaking in an interview on Empire FM’s Showbiz Today programme, according to a report sighted by YEN.com.gh on Ghanacelebrities.com.

According to her, her family has benefitted so much from the government’s free SHS policy as her cousins and younger siblings in Ghana are going to school for free.

Diverting to the creative arts industry, Wendy Shay said that Akufo-Addo has done a lot for the creative arts industry to boost the sector’s growth, adding that Akufo-Addo keeps doing more for the industry.

In her view: “The NPP has done well. Nana Addo has done so well. Look at what they have done to the creative arts industry. Not that alone, but also the free SHS policy. The NPP has done a lot of good work”.

She, however, appealed to the government to come to the aid of musicians with financial support.

According to her, many musicians including herself have run loses due to the impact the COVID-19 pandemic had on the creative arts industry.

She thus called on Akufo-Addo to offer some stimulus to the players of the industry to help them recover from their losses.

In a related development, Akufo-Addo is hopeful that the NPP will secure another victory in the upcoming December elections.

He said in an earlier report by YEN.com.gh that the NPP was targeting a first-round victory in the elections, adding that this was going to be realised.

Akufo-Addo thus called on Ghanaians to vote massively for him and also the NPP parliamentary candidates in their various constituencies.
