Meanwhile, Vice President, Dr. Mahammudu Bawumia has clearly stated that the Akufo-Addo led New Patriotic Party (NPP) government, would not legalise the commercialisation of motorbikes, popularly known as ‘okada'.

According to Dr Bawumia, the Okada business, is too much of a risky business for the government to consider legalising.

He stated that government would rather give these okada riders the alternative to own new cars on a lease basis in order for them to carry out their activities in a much safer manner.

Bawumia made this known at a ceremony held for the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Volkswagon and BlackIvy for the production of affordable vehicles and houses for Ghanaians.
