Information reaching YEN.com.gh has it that the mother of former President of Ghana, Jerry John Rawlings, Madam Victoria Agbotui, who recently celebrated her 101st birthday has died.
Sources close to the Rawlings family indicated that Madam Agbotui had been unwell for some time.
The news was sighted by YEN.com.gh on myjoyonline in the early hours of September 24, 2020.
The one-time head of the catering department at the presidency during Rawlings’ era celebrated her 101st birthday on September 9.

Born in 1919, Madam Agobtui turned 101 on Wednesday, September 9, 2020.
In celebration of her birthday, many photos of the old woman popped up and trended on social media.
The photos had former President Rawlings' mother in the midst of many others, including her son; her daughter-in-law, Nana Konadu Agyemang, and Catholic priest Reverend Father Campbell, among others.
The photos, some of which were posted on Facebook by YEN.com.gh, are believed to have come from Madam Agbotui's 100th birthday celebration last year.
Madam Victoria Agbotui has been firmly behind her son in all aspects of his life including his political career.
She first appeared in the political scene when her son staged a coup in 1979.
