Togo's President Faure Gnassingbé has appointed the country's first-ever female prime minister.
Victoire Tomegah Dogbé is an economics and marketing graduate and had held a senior post in the president's office.
Before that, she spent a decade as the minister of grassroots development and youth employment.
She had earlier worked for the United Nations Development Programme

YEN.com.gh earlier reported that Professor Kwabena Frimpong Boateng has shown that even though he has matchless love for his country as a minister, he equally cannot forget his first love as a heart surgeon.
The astute Ghanaian is currently the Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation under the Akufo-Addo-led government.

As a result of his position, he sees to the affairs of the nation normally from Monday to Friday which are considered as 'official working days'.
One would consider the honorable minister to take a good rest after his weekday work is over but anyone saying this, clearly does not know Professor Kwabena Frimpong Boateng.
Apart from his political life and work, Professor Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng is an active physician and cardiothoracic surgeon.
As a result, he goes to work on weekends but not in the capacity as a minister but in the full role as a heart surgeon.
During such weekends, the experienced surgeon goes to the theatre to save lives by performing hours of surgeries while standing on his feet.
Meanwhile, a young lady has shared a video and a story with popular Facebook counselor, Abena Magis on her page after they were reportedly denied access to healthcare in an emergency situation.
In the post sighted by the YEN.com.gh on Abena Manokekame, one lady indicated that a scorpion bit another lady at around 1 am on September 29, 2020.
Arrangements were then made to take the lady to the Bortianor Polyclinic at around 3 am for immediate treatment but they met some hostility upon their arrival.
