Election 2020: Akufo-Addo vows to deal with anyone who plans to cause chaos

In exactly sixty seven days to the December 2020 elections, plans are far advanced by the national security, security services as well as the electoral commission.
In as much as peace is preached across all media platforms to sensitise the public on the need for public peace and safety, some people still go ahead to cause chaos.
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has vowed that his government will deal ruthlessly with people who will make a conscious effort to start any form of trouble during the December 7, general elections.

He said he will ensure that the upcoming polls are violent-free, devoid of any form of hindrance or intimidation.
The President made this known during a durbar of chiefs and people of Juaso in the Asante Akyem South District as part of his tour of the Ashanti Region.
“....for those who will seek to bring trouble, we will deal with them. They will know that the government has the power to deal with them. So, the polls will be peaceful for everyone to exercise their franchise,” he said.
The Electoral Commission (EC) on the other hand has revealed that most of the names alleged have gone missing from the new voters’ register have been found.
In a report carried by YEN.com.gh, the chairperson of the Commission, Jean Mensa, said the issue of the missing names was an unintentional error.
Addressing a press conference on Monday, September 28, 2020, Mensa said the EC has successfully retrieved valid applicants, who were missing from the register.
She stated that the missing names are on the electronic register, according to a report filed by theghanareport.
In other news, Jean Mensa has indicated her willingness and readiness to ensure a free, fair and peaceful 2020 general elections.
Madam Mensa, in a reported sighted by YEN.com.gh on Pulse.com.gh, said she would ensure that the elections are not rigged in any party's favour.
According to her, she will oversee a very credible and transparent election.
