"Oh, Charlie. I can't believe how lucky I was to get to be your mom. You were the happiest boy in the whole world, and I will miss your smile and snuggles and wagging tail every single day. I keep reminding myself that you had such a full and happy life in your seven short years. You got to dig every hole, chase every wave, and chew every stick your heart desired. You taught me so much about enjoying life and loving people. There will never be another Charlie. I am heartbroken now but I know you are no longer in pain and are probably chasing squirrels across the rainbow bridge. I’m so glad you got to spend your last week in your favourite place. I love you forever, my sweet boy," wrote Sallie.
