Former US first lady Michelle Obama has celebrated her hubby Barack as they mark 28 years in marriage.

The two have become somewhat of mentors for young lovers who are starting out in their unions and even Michelle has given great advice through her podcast.
The mother of two went on Instagram on Saturday, October 3, reminding the fans that it was year number 28 and also detailing reasons why she loves him.
She also used the opportunity to remind US citizens on the importance of voting in the upcoming elections.
"I love @BarackObama for his smile, his character, and his compassion. So grateful to have him as a partner through everything life throws at us. And this year, we have a request for you — pick one person in your life who might not vote and make sure they do. Tell us about it in the comments! That’s an anniversary message of the best kind. Love you, Barack," she wrote.
The former POTUS also shared a message on his Instagram to celebrate the milestone noting every day with Michelle made him a better father, husband and human.
"Even with everything going on, I wanted to take a moment to say happy anniversary to the love of my life. Every day with @MichelleObama makes me a better husband, a better father, and a better human," he wrote.
Just recently, Michelle shared a message on Twitter reflecting on her marriage while recalling an episode of a podcast she did with comedian Conan O'Brien.
She attached a beautiful throwback photo from her wedding day with Obama and noted relationships like hers bring joy and give one's life meaning.
The award-winning author also noted marriages need a lot of work and honesty with oneself and their partners.
Michelle in an earlier post joked there were times she wanted to push Obama out of the window as they went through difficulties in marriage but said challenges were in every union.
She wanted young couples to understand these periods were inevitable and can last long, adding if she had given up during the tough times, she would have missed on so much beauty.
