Armed robbers attack VIP bus; shoot at the driver, rob passengers

- A VIP bus driver is in a critical condition after armed robbers shot him on the Accra-Kumasi highway

News reaching YEN.com.gh indicates that a VIP bus driver is in a critical condition after armed robbers shot him on the Accra-Kumasi highway near Linda Dor.

According to a report filed by Joy News, the incident occurred on the dawn of Monday, October 5, 2020 at 01:36 am.

The robbers also attacked the passengers leaving most of them with serious injuries.

The bus which was en route to Kumasi from Accra bore the inscription ‘Yesu Dea’ with registration number GE 2397-10.

Joy News reports that eyewitnesses at the scene of the incident said the robbers rushed to the middle of the street emerging from the bush where they were hiding, and shot at the windscreen of the bus.

All the passengers on board the bus were robbed of their personal belongings and various amounts of cash.

Others also complained of being manhandled by the thieves.

The robbers bolted before the arrival of the police officers, making it impossible for any arrests to be made.

In other news, a motor rider and his passenger aboard the bike reportedly fell over from the Mallam junction overhead.

The rider together with his passenger reportedly ran into the curves on the overhead bridge as they approached the Mallam Junction from Lapaz.

The incident occurred early morning on Tuesday, September 22, 2020.

In the video sighted by YEN.com.gh on Adom FM's Facebook page, one of the people aboard the motorbike had a crash helmet on. Fortunately for him, he did not bleed but was obviously injured.
