Alleged armed robbers invade UCC; stab two students (videos)

The University of Cape Coast (UCC) has been reportedly invaded by suspected armed robbers who been attacking students.

Videos of many students running helter-skelter popped up on social media on Monday, October 12, 2020, throwing light on the situation.

The videos as sighted by show a very chaotic situation among the students in the school.

According to the narrative accompanying the video, some robbers had stormed the campus on the night and students were running for their lives.

Some of the reports even suggest that the two students had been stabbed by the robbers.

A post of Zionfelix of a message from some of the students indicated that the stabbing incident happened between 11:50 pm and 12:00 am in the night.

The student who lamented the poor security on campus pled for government's intervention to curb the situation.

“Hello Zion, please Ucc students lives matter. Armed robber's have invaded our lecture halls to stab two students. The time was 11:50 PM to 12:00am
The security here is very poor. Please help us so the government can hear this. Please hide my account. Our lives matter's, saveuccstudentsnow," the student's message read.

From what has gathered, such robbery attacks are quite common on the UCC campus.

The situation is said to have worsened with the return of continuing students to campus following the re-opening of schools after some of the restrictions brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic were lifted. Students are currently on campus writing their end of semester examinations.
