Following twitter trends and videos of students in a chaotic scene trying to take cover from armed robbers, the management of the University of Cape Coast have finally voiced out.

According to them, no student has been harmed by armed robbers according to some reports on social media.

The Public Relations Officer for University of Cape Coast, Major Baah, in an interview with Kasapa News dismissed the rumor urging the public to disregard it.

“Nothing of the sort has happened on campus, it was just a prank that someone used social media to spread. Our investigations show that no armed robbers were on campus, no student has been injured or robbed of their belonging. It’s an outright fabrication and the public must disregard this rumour. The students are safe, we have adequate security protection for them.” Major(rtd) Kofi Baah Bentum stated.

Twitter has been awash with rumors that armed robbers stormed a lecture hall on Monday night and attacked students who were learning and robbed them of their money, mobile phones, and laptops.

YEN.com.gh earlier reported the University of Cape Coast (UCC) has been reportedly invaded by suspected armed robbers who been attacking students.

Videos of many students running helter-skelter popped up on social media on Monday, October 12, 2020, throwing light on the situation.

The videos as sighted by YEN.com.gh show a very chaotic situation among the students in the school.

According to the narrative accompanying the video, some robbers had stormed the campus on the night and students were running for their lives.
