Pastor in trouble after stealing neighbours' cows to pay dowry for his wife

A 35-year-old pastor from Kakamega is behind bars after he was caught with his neighbours' missing cows.

Joash Wanyonyi was busted with the two cows in a forest near his home and confessed to the crime saying he wanted to pay his wife's dowry with the animals.

According to K24, Wanyonyi is said to have stripped naked after being caught red-handed and even threatened to take his own life due to the shame.

Thomas Namayi Ambunya and Laban Andugu Mbayaj, the owners of the cows, said they woke up on Friday, October 16, only to find their animals gone.

After a failed search mission, Ambunya said he received a phone call informing him the cleric had been caught with the two animals.

Shieywe Location Chief Philip Chunge confirmed the incident. The suspect was arrested by police officers from Lurambi, Kakamega.

In a separate story, a Kakamega preacher narrowly escaped the wrath of a husband who caught him in the act with his wife.

The husband is said to have come from work earlier than usual and caught his pastor having intimate relations with his significant other on their matrimonial bed.

The man of God, who preaches at Solid Rock for Jesus Christ, had to run for his life on foot and left behind some of his clothes and bodaboda.

Mutende said he had confiscated the pastor's clothes and motorcycle and the rest of Elukho villagers joined him in condemning the duo's despicable act.

The local elders asked the preacher to seek the forgiveness of the aggrieved husband and compensate him with cows and goats through the chief.
