Man, 78, says he preached to thieves for an hour but they still robbed him

A 78-year-old man in Kericho county has narrated his unforgettable experience with a gang of thieves who stormed his mansion and robbed him of his vehicle and other household items.

"They came in at about 3am with very bright spotlights and on entering the house, they identified themselves as robbers and I welcomed them. I told them I wanted to pray for them and they accepted..so I prayed for them to overcome the challenges they were facing in life," the septuagenarian described.

The old man told The Standard his family members stayed with the robbers for about one hour where he preached to them and prayed that they got better opportunities in life.

Theft of car, household items

Despite Mzee Sigilai's spirited effort, the thieves stole his vehicle, household items such as rice, sugar, bedsheets, gas cooker, a radio and other stuffs.

"They tied our legs and arms and made us very uncomfortable. In the morning however, they were caught and arrested and my car was retrieved with ignition keys" he said.

As was earlier reported by TUKO.co.ke, a resident in Nairobi also narrated how he was robbed at the city's central business district near Archives in broad daylight.
