Ghanaians react to Prof Gyampo's call to get politicians to stop replacing dead MPs with their wives
Popular lecturer of the University of Ghana, Professor Ransford Gyampo, has made a call to politicians to stop replacing dead MPs with their wives.
Professor Ransford Gyampo is reported to have called on political parties to halt the trend where wives of Members of Parliament who die are made to succeed their husbands in parliament.
The popular lecturer added that if care was not taken, some unscrupulous people who have marital issues with their spouse may be plotting murder as a mean of getting selected into parliament.

His comments come after the wife of the murdered MP for Mfansteman Ophelia Hayford was reportedly selected by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to replace her late husband Mr Ekow Quansah Hayford.
The Mfansteman MP lost his life during an armed robbery attack on his convoy on Friday, October 9, 2020.
