4 More For Nana - Akufo-Addo picks No.1 on the ballot paper for Dec 7 polls

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo and the New Patriotic Party would be number one on the ballot paper in the upcoming December 2020 elections.

At a meeting at the offices of the Electoral Commission (EC), the political parties that were cleared to contest in the December 7 elections, were made to pick slots.

There was a first ballot to determine the order in which the political parties cleared to contest in the election would pick their slots on the ballot paper.

This was after some political parties protested the normal way the EC uses to select positions on the ballot paper.

During that exercise, Akua Donkor's GFP was the first to pick with NPP coming fourth and NDC picking the eighth position.

After that was done, the real positioning for the slots on the ballot paper began with reps of the various political parties being made to pick a folded sheet with hidden numbers written on them.

That exercise saw Akufo-Addo's New Patriotic Party picking the No 1 slot.

National Democratic Congress's John Dramani Mahama came in second on the ballot paper.

Below is the list of how the various presidential aspirants would appear on the ballot paper come December 7, 2020.

12. Independent Candidate

YEN.com.gh earlier reported that the Electoral Commission of Ghana (EC), has given some 12 presidential aspirants the greenlight to contest in the upcoming 2020 general election on December 7.

In a report sighted by YEN.com.gh on myjoyonline.com, the Chairperson for the Commission, Jean Mensa, made the announcement for the clearance and disqualification today, October 19, 2020.

Speaking at the press conference in Accra, the EC boss indicated that a number of issues triggered the disqualification of 5 presidential candidates.
