Basketball legend Michael Jordan has opened a second clinic for uninsured people in his hometown. His aim is to address the gaps in health equity and provide comprehensive primary healthcare.

Three years ago, Jordan donated $7 million to open a similar clinic. His money covered the purchasing of land and the building of the clinic. The clinic only opened in October last year and is run by Novant Health - a leading healthcare provider in the US.

The new clinic is said to open in Statesville Avenue which is located in Charlotte, North Carolina. A Zoom meeting was hosted for the launch of the clinic where Jordan spoke about why he decided to open a second facility.

Lad Bible reported that in the Zoom meeting, Jordan he was proud of the impact the first clinic had on the community especially now during the pandemic. He continued to say that the second clinic would provide services to improve the health and lives of many people who live in Charlotte.

According to Observer, an uninsured Charlotte resident told them that the clinic was the first place where doctors listened to her about her struggle with diabetes while providing her with free care that she regards as life-changing.
