Former President John Agyekum Kufuor's wife, Theresa Kufuor has turned a year older today, Sunday, October 25, 2020.

The former first lady has attained the ripe age of 85 years on this earth and many have taken to social media to celebrate her.

One of the first people to have celebrated Mrs Kufuor on her milestone is Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

In an early morning post on his official Facebook page, Dr Bawumia has shared a beautiful photo of Auntie Theresa, as Mrs Kufuor is affectionately called.

The photo has the former first lady looking beautiful in colourful kente 'kaba and slit'.

Sharing the photo, who described Mrs Kufuor as 'mum' prayed for God's blessings, protection, good health and long life for her.

"Happy 85th birthday to our mother Madam Theresa Kufuor, former First Lady of the republic. Auntie Theresa may God continue to bless you, protect you and grant you good health and long life. Happy birthday mum."

Bawumia's post has got many Ghanaians on social media joining him to celebrate Mrs Kufuor on her birthday.

The former first lady and her husband have been together for almost 60 years after their wedding in 1962.

Mrs Kufuor is a midwife by profession and lived most of her working life in the United Kingdom after studying at the Radcliffe Infirmary, Oxford and Paddington General Hospital, London, and qualifying as a State Certified Midwife with a Certificate in Premature Nursing.

Born Theresa Mensah, she is the younger sister of the late NPP stalwart, J.H. Mensah.
