Akufo-Addo cuts sod for 40-bed Kpone and 400-bed Tema regional hospitals

- Akufo-Addo has cut the sod for the construction of some very important health facilities

- Sod was cut for the construction of a forty (40) bed Municipal Hospital at Kpone as well as a 400-bed Regional hospital Tema

- The projects are expected to be completed in 24 months

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has cut the sod for the construction of some very important health facilities in the country.

He cut the sod for the construction of a forty (40) bed Municipal Hospital at Kpone as well as a 400-bed Regional hospital Tema in the Greater Accra Region.

He cut the sod during his four-day tour of the Greater Accra Region which started Sunday, October 25, 2020.

According to President Akufo-Addo, the sod-cutting ceremony represents another important milestone in Government’s commitment to guaranteeing access to healthcare for all Ghanaians, through improving existing healthcare facilities, and constructing new ones in places where none exist in the country.

In addition, Nana Addo mentioned that the government has secured funding towards the construction and equipping of twelve (12) hospitals with the staff accommodation for hospital workers.

The Kpone hospital happens to be one of the beneficiary communities.

An amount of seventy-five million, five hundred thousand euros (€71.5 million) from Erste Group Bank AG and Česká Spořitelna a.s., has been secured towards the construction and equipping of these twelve (12) hospitals.

Other beneficiary communities are Jumapo, Kwabeng, Nkwatia, Achiase and Adukrom in the Eastern Region; Suame, Drobonso, Sabronum, Manso Nkwanta, Twedie in the Ashanti Region; and Mim in the Ahafo Region.

These projects, including that of Kpone, are expected to be completed in 24 months.

In other news, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo who is also the leader and flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has predicted that the NPP will win with a first-round victory in the upcoming December elections.

He said the NPP is targeting a first-round victory because he is confident Ghanaians will vote for him given his performance so far since he became president.

Akufo-Addo appealed to the electorates to vote for him and the NPP Parliamentary candidates in the various constituency to ensure that the next term of the NPP brings more development.

Akufo-Addo noted that massive development can be felt if he gets to work with his own party members in parliament, therefore, the need for the people to avoid “skirt and blouse” voting in the upcoming elections.
