Award winning actress, Yvonne Nelson, has commended Ghana President John Mahama for the improvement in the power crisis.

According to her the president deserves applause for the efforts at resolving the ‘dumsor’ menace in the country.

“… The situation is improving gradually in Accra and other parts of the country,” she said in an interview on Bryt 99.1 FM in Koforidua.

“I must say, dumsor is now better, and I commend the Government, Power Minister and all other officials working around the clock to fix dumsor, for the good work they are doing,” Miss Nelson added.

The celebrity actress was behind the “Dumsor Must Stop Vigil” campaign which attracted several other celebrities in the country.

The “Dumsor Must Stop Vigil” campaign saw thousands of Ghanaians demonstrating on the streets on Accra to register their displeasure at the power situation in the country.

She also reputed the assertion that the demonstration was not done as propaganda for any political party’s interest but for the interest of all Ghanaians.

The current power crisis [dumsor] has been with Ghanaians for the past two years and in affecting the economic growth of the country.
