NPP will pay the rent advance of the youth in the 2nd term – Nana Akomea announces

- The NPP has stated that it would pay the rent advance of the Ghanaian youth when they are retained in power

- According to Nana Akomea, this would help provide a short term cushion for the Ghanaian youth

- The initiative is also meant to relieve the youth from the problem of high rent and long rent advance

A member of the communication team of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akomea has stated that the party would pay the rent advance of the Ghanaian youth when they are retained in power.

According to Nana Akomea, this would help provide a short term cushion for the Ghanaian youth from the problem of high rent and long rent advance.

Nana Akomea made this known during a press conference on Monday, October 26, 2020.

“Government will pay the rent Advance for you, and you pay the rent monthly to the scheme.” he said.

According to report filed by JoyNews, he said the move would be implemented through the National Rental Assistance Scheme.

The national rental assistance scheme is a scheme that would among other things provide low-interest loans to eligible Ghanaian youth solely to enable them pay for rental accommodation.

Explaining further, Nana Akomea said the rent advance would be paid directly into the bank accounts of beneficiary landlords

It would also target Ghanaian youth working in both the formal and informal sectors with a regular income.

In other news, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has cut the sod for the construction of some very important health facilities in the country.

He cut the sod for the construction of a forty (40) bed Municipal Hospital at Kpone as well as a 400-bed Regional hospital Tema in the Greater Accra Region during his four-day tour of the Greater Accra Region which started Sunday, October 25, 2020.
