Akufo-Addo sacks PPA CEO Adjenim Boateng Adjei

- President Nana Akufo-Addo has sacked PPA CEO Adjenim Boateng Adjei with immediate effect

- In a letter signed by Eugene Arhin, the Director of Communications at the President, it was disclosed that sacking of Adjei was based on recommendations by CHRAJ

- The PPA CEO has been under CHRAJ investigations after a Manasseh Azure documentary exposed some dubious activities at PPA

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has sacked CEO of the of Public Procurement Authority (PPA), Adjenim Boateng Adjei.

The sacking of Boateng Adjei was announced in a letter from the presidency on Friday, October 30, 2020.

In the letter signed by Eugene Arhin, the Director of Communications at the presidency, the sacking is a result of investigations into the Adjei's conducts the CEO of PPA.

It will be recalled that investigative journalist that Manasseh Azure Awuni in 2019 released a documentary which exposed Adjei as the co-owner of a company which had been selling government contracts it got through single-source and restrictive tendering.

Follwoing the Azure's documentary, President Akufo-Addo suspended Adjei on August 22, 2019, and referred the matter to the Commission for Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) and the Office of the Special Prosecutor.

It is after the submission of CHRAJ's report that Akufo-Addo has decided to sack the embattled CEO.

According to the sack letter:

"the Commission concluded that on the totality of the evidence, Mr. Adjenim Boateng Ads; had put himself in a position where his personal interests conflicted with the performance of his functions as CEO and Board Member of the PPA."
"Having satisfied himself of the fact that the recommendation made by CHRA) Is properly motivated and well-founded, the President has expressed his appreciation and gratitude to Mr. Joseph Whittal and CHRAJ for the thorough and methodical manner in which the matter has been addressed," the letter concluded.

His sack takes effect immediately.

In other political news on YEN.com.gh, a photo has popped up showing an NPP supporter bathing in public.

The photo was taken at a durbar for Dr Mahammudu Bawumia during the first day of his tour of the Central region.

Ghanaians have been reacting to man's antics since the photo popped up.

During his visit to the town, the former president made several campaign promises.

In reaction, to his promises the paramount chief, Nii Tetteh Otu II advised him to stay true to them and not fail his people.
