Top Ghanaian writer from Bawumia's hometown endorses John Mahama for 2020 election
- An award-winning Ghanaian author popularly known as Yidana Waterz has endorsed John Mahama although he hails from Bawumia's hometown
- This comes as a great shock since many Ghanaians go by tribal affiliations when it comes to their choice of a political figure
- According to Waterz, he had been a critique of Mahama's government but has now realized that Mahama did far better than the Bawumia-Nana Addo one

Yidana Sulemana Mohammed Awal (Waterz), an award-winning Ghanaian author who hails from the same town as Ghana's Vice-President Mahamudu Bawumia, has endorsed former President John Mahama ahead of the December 7 elections.
This comes as a great surprise as many Ghanaians still hold on to tribal affiliations when it comes to their choice of a political figure.
Information obtained directly from Yidana indicates that he was a great critique of John Mahama's administration because, at the time, Mahama seemed to him as a non-performer.

However, according to Yidana, he has now realized that the former president (JM) did far better than the Dr Bawumia-Nana Addo's government that he so much trusted would do better.
As for the December 2020 general elections, Waterz Yidana has clearly proclaimed that he would vote for John Mahama and has also urged all his followers and friends on Facebook to do same.
Waterz is a powerful writer who has received multiple literary awards and also won the 2019 40under40 award coupled with the fact that the University of Ghana adopted one of his plays for their Theatre Arts Department.
