"I felt very safe under former President Mahama and I have a number of colleagues who have also told me they don't feel safe, Manasseh Azure Awuni, has revealed.

Manasseh mentioned that under the John Mahama administration, criticisms were well accepted and the Mahama government was tolerant to journalists than that of Akufo-Addo.

Speaking on the fight for corruption, Manasseh said even if you are a politician, a civil society person or even the President; your life will be at risk because of the intentions.

Manasseh, however, appealed to President Akufo-Addo to create an environment where journalists can do their work without any form of intimidation for their views and some of the things they say as journalists.

His comments comes after Akufo-Addo sacked the CEO of the Public Procurement Authority (PPA), Adjenim Boateng Adjei, for allegations made against him in an exposé.

In other news, the presidential candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama, has reacted to allegations that he owns hotels in Dubai.

Mahama fearlessly denied running a hotel business in the Asian country.

According to the former president, it is one of the many false allegations leveled against him by the NPP.

"They said I built hotels in Dubai, I have ships in Tokyo, they said DKM was mine. If I have hotels in Dubai, I dare them to go and look for it, sell it and come and invest the money in Ghana's economy," he said.

While addressing the party followers in Accra, he said the NPP has not been able to provide any evidence against him, as all the claims are false and merely aimed at tarnishing his image.
