RTP Awards 2020: Sefa Kayi, Bola Ray, McBrown, Fadda Dickson, others win

- The 2020 RTP Awards has been held with Stacy Amoateng emerging as the RTP Personality of the Year

- Nana Ama McBrown also won two awards on the night with Kwame Sefa Kayi, Bola Ray and Fadda Dickson also among the winners

- Despite Media group took the highest number of awards on the night with 15 wins

- The event saw fine and nostalgic performances from Praye, Ex-Doe, among others

The 2020 edition of the Radio and Television Personality (RTP) Award has been held in Accra on Saturday, November 7, 2020.

The awards show which came off at the plush Kempinski hotel saw many broadcasters being honoured for their performances in the 2019-2020 year under review.

Being the 10th edition of the RTP Awards, the night also saw awards being given to personalities who have excelled in broadcasting in the past decade.

Stacey Amoateng, the General Manager of Angel Broadcasting Network (Angel TV and FM), took away the main award for the night, RTP Personality of the Year 2020. She also won the TV Development Show Host of the Year

Peace FM's Kwame Sefa Kayi and EIB Network (Starr FM, GHOne TV, among others) CEO Bola Ray both shared the honour of being named the RTP Personalities of the Decade (2010-2020).

Other notable winners included Nana Ama McBrown who won two awards, TV Entertainment Show Host of the Year and TV Presenter of the Year.

Despite Media MD Fadda Dickson was also honoured as a superhero and his outfit was the biggest winner on the night with a total of 15 awards.

Other big winners included ABN, EIB, Media General (TV3).

Meanwhile, Nana Ama McBrown has opened up on her days of financial difficulties when she had to virtually beg for money to feed

According to the actress, she was so broke sometime in 2008 that she had to borrow GHC50 from a friend which she survived on for one week but great advice from a man (friend) she met turned things around for her and she has never looked back

McBrown disclosed this during an interview with VOA's Linord Moudou on her VIP With Linord show
