Moments after Democratic leader, Joseph R. Biden Jr. was declared winner of the U.S. presidential elections, the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) believes his victory will be the same for John Dramani Mahama.
Joe Biden and John Dramani Mahama share similar political history. Both served as vice presidents and also worked at the Senate (parliament, in Ghana’s case).

Both helped their bosses to win 2008 elections, became Vice President in 2009,left power in 2016, contested in 2020, have female Vice (first time in both USA/Ghana history) and are social democratic parties and belong to Socialist International.
“Your resilience is admirable. It’s taken sheer grit and determination to chalk this victory. I look forward to us working together for the mutual benefit of our two countries and for a better world that ensures social justice and sustainable development,” he stated.
Already, there are pictures circulating on social media of Mahama and Joe Biden as well as Vice-presidential candidate - Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang - with first lady elect - Dr. Jill Biden.
Meanwhile, President Akufo Addo has also congratulated Joe Biden entreating him to install peace, unity and economic progress in the U.S. and across the world.
