Opare-Saforo's father status as a retired army general allowed him and his family to travel to different countries in Africa while working for World Vision International. The firm is a Christian Non-Governmental Organization. Jessica travelled to Somalia, Kenya, Senegal, and the United Kingdom. Unfortunately, Jessica lost her mother to terminal illness when she was very young.

She spent a larger part of her formative years in Kenya, whereby she attended a Christian school called Rusinga. However, she later moved to another learning institution called the International School of Dakar in Senegal.

Although Jessica's mother wanted her to become an accountant, she attended the University of Ghana, Legon, whereby she studied Economics and Psychology. Also, she went to Akosombo International School and Alsyd Academy.

While studying at Akosombo International School for her secondary education, she was the sports prefect. Additionally, Jessica was the lead singer while studying at the University of Ghana choir.

Career

How did Jessica Opare-Saforo create a great reputation in the media industry and land the most lucrative jobs? Her mother wanted her to become an accountant, and at some point, she contemplated becoming an aeronautic engineer.

However, she chose another path when attending the University of Ghana, whereby she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree. This created her robust foundation in the media industry.

Her first job was hosting a radio show when she was in her first year at the university. She got this job opportunity at Vibe FM in 2000. How did Jessica secure this position? Her elder sister was working at the radio station at the time and put in good words to the management.

She was invited to the station and landed the role that was a bit problematic at the beginning. Fortunately, she found her footing and hosted her first show for a year. Later, Jessica Opare-Saforo migrated to another mid-morning show called The Big Launch that continued to increase her popularity in the radio niche.

The multi-skilled radio host moved to Choice FM in 2004 and worked for one year. In 2005, Jessica moved to Citi FM whereby she hosted Citi Drive. At Choice FM, before being part of the Citi Drive show, she was working at the Events and Promotion department.

Citi Drive was an interesting show, especially the segment called Battle of the Sexes. Jessica and her co-host Nil Amah Dagadu would ask listeners questions like, Who was a better cheat; Men or Women? While working for Citi FM, Jessica walked out on set when she felt disrespected by her co-host.

Jessica Opare-Saforo used to host Celebrity Fanzone on GH One TV. This is a celebrated and award-winning celebrity and lifestyle show. Jessica’s latest television gig is an all-woman relationship talk show called Sister Sister. Additionally, Jessica is the Programme Manager at Citi 97.3 FM as well as Citi TV.
