Saudi Arabian philanthropists construct ultra-modern US $100,000 mosque, school complex facilities for Kuntenase muslims

The family of Abdallah Al Sharif of the Kingdom of Arabia has funded the construction of ultra-modern US $100,000 Mosque and more for Muslims in Kuntenase, Ashanti Region.

In his quest to promote the Muslim religion across some parts of the country, the family of Abdallah Al Sharif of the Kingdom of Arabia has funded the construction of ultra-modern US $100,000 Mosque, five-unit classroom block, mechanized borehole water, and Imam’s residential accommodation facilities for the Muslim communities at Kuntenase in the Bosomtwe District of Ashanti region.

Other projects that were also undertaken in addition to the Mosque and others included a modernized toilet and hostel edifice for the students who may wish to stay closer to the school.

At an impressive handing over ceremony of the project, to the district Chief Imam for Bosomtwe District, Alhaji Mohammed Salis Ibrahim, Sheikh Abdul-Mushin Baafi a local contractor who executed the projects, spoke on behalf of the family of Abdallah Al Sharif of the Kingdom of Arabia and indicated that the provision of the facilities was among others, to promote Islamic religion at Kuntenase and for that matter the district as a whole since the town has for a very long time been eluded with Mosque despite the fact that the area is recognized as a district capital.

Sheikh Baafi applauded the benevolent family for their gesture which he described as timely for the growth of Islamic religion in the district. He said the unavailability of Mosque in the entire Kuntenase township was preventing congregational gathering and prayers which he noted, is very regretful in the Islamic circles.

According to Sheikh Baafi, it was against this background, that information was relayed to the family of Abdallah Al-Sharif in Saudi Arabia who in turn quickly responded to the demand and released the funds for the purpose in which all and sundries had witnessed at Kuntenase in the Bosomtwe District.

Terming the Islamic religion as more visible now at Kuntenase, Sheikh Baafi said, the project was fully supervised by Abar Sahabul Khair, Saudi Arabian company with vast humanitarian experience in projects undertakings in Africa.

Sheikh Baafi, however, entreated the beneficiaries to use the facilities in a careful manner by way of ensuring proper maintenance to prolong their lifespan.

Receiving the Keys to the projects Alhaji Mohammed Salis Ibrahim Bosomtwe District Chief Imam thanked and paid a glowing tribute and prayed to Allah to reward them abundantly for what they spent on the projects, adding that the gesture was in solution to an age-long challenge which faced the Muslim communities at Kontenase and that they will forever remain grateful to the donors and ensure the maintenance of the projects when they come by any fault.

The Kontihene of Kontenase, Nana Prem Kwagyan who chaired and commissioned the colourful ceremony was full of praises to the donors for contributing to the development of the Islamic religion in the town and charged the Muslim communities to put the facilities to good use.

He said the Traditional Council respects every religion and called for unity and peaceful co-existence among all the religions groups in the town to ensure unity for the development of the area.

Expressing his gratitude for the inclusion of the school complex, in the project, the Kontihene urged the Muslim leaders in the town to take advantage of the education edifice to train their children in accordance with the Islamic laws so that the children will grow up to become good responsible citizens in the country.
