This 2020 general elections is one that would go down the annals of history if the National Democratic Congress wins.

It would be the first time in the history of Ghana that a party would be in power with a female as vice president.

The running mate of the NDC, Professor Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang has since her outdooring as the running mate received a lot of applauds and endorsements from both males and females.

Professor Opoku Agyemang was endorsed and blessed by the founder of the NDC, Jerry John Rawlings when she was introduced.

In a video sighted by YEN.com.gh, Amanda Clinton noted that one of the reasons why she chose to endorse her was her ability to listen to people particularly women.

She also noted in the recorded video that any woman nominated to such a higher office will offer her the opportunity to champion gender policies for the general good of all women in society.

“... if you have a female in higher office such as Prof. Opoku Agyemang then that could very much mean that the female agenda is pushed forward even more in terms of how our policies..,” Amanda said.

Amanda, however, said she doubts the gender factor will play out strongly in her campaign or persuade women to vote for the opposition NDC.

In other news, former president John Mahama according to information from the Special Prosecutor's office may face a 2-year jail term for allegedly guaranteeing a passport with false information.

In a report sighted by YEN.com.gh on Ghanaweb, the revelation was made by Ghana's special prosecutor, Martin Amidu.

According to the special prosecutor, Mahama’s younger brother, Samuel Adam Mahama, acquired a Ghanaian passport with a piece of wrong information in breach of the Passport and Travel Certificate Decree, 1967, NLCD 155.
