The family of the late former president Jerry John Rawlings called on the president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to formerly announce his death.
The family recounted how they paid a similar visit to the Jubilee House exactly four weeks ago to announce the final funeral rights of the former president's late mother.
YEN.com.gh has however sighted photos from the rather sad meeting of the family of the late Rawlings as they called on the president.
The president expressed his deepest condolences to the family, and reiterated the decision to honour the memory of President Rawlings, the founder of the 4th Republic, with a fitting State Funeral.
YEN.com.gh earlier reported that former president Jerry John Rawlings died in the early hours of Thursday, November 12, 2020.
It was however, reported that the former president took ill about a week ago and was admitted at the Korle-Bu teaching hospital.
According to GH One TV presenter Serwaa Amihere, their checks have suggested that Rawlings died from complications of Coronavirus (COVID-19).

In a related development, veteran journalist Kweku Baako has reacted to the news of the death of former President Jerry John Rawlings.
The Managing Editor of The New Crusading Guide has expressed his condolences to the former president's family.
While alive, Rawlings and Baako were not the best of friends as the latter had been a staunch critic of the former president.
In an interview on Joy News on Thursday after the sad news went viral, Baako described Rawlings as a man with a very fine personality and was loved by all despite his strictness.
He stated that he never wished death on Rawlings despite their widely-known differences.
