Former President John Dramani Mahama and the leader of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has reacted to the news of Former President Jerry John Rawlings' death.
Jerry John Rawlings, who passed away on the morning of November 12, 2020, was the founder of the NDC which has produced presidents such as the late John Evans Atta Mills and John Dramani Mahama.
In a swift response sighted by YEN.com.gh on the live coverage by GHOne TV, John Dramani Mahama cut short his campaign that was ongoing at Obuasi in the Ashanti Region.
Speaking about the incident, John Mahama, at the time indicated that he heard the rumour but not an official confirmation but had cut the trip short to return to Accra.
According to him, if the news gets confirmed, there will be a proper address to the press and Ghanaians at large from the national office of the NDC.
Many people have been heartbroken by the demise of Ghana's longest-serving Head of State.

The longest-serving ever Ghanaian passed on away Thursday, November 12, 2020, at the Korle-Bu Hospital.
