Ghanaians are still in shocking of the passing of former President Jerry John Rawlings in this politically charged season.
As widely reported, former President Rawlings passed on at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital where he was receiving treatment after falling ill a few days ago.
Amidst the rejoicing of others who feel his death is some sort of payback for wrongs done their families, his death could have an impact in the upcoming general elections.

The host of Good Evening Ghana, Paul Adom-Otchere claims the Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings could use the passing of Rawlings against the National Democratic Congress(NDC) in the 2020 general election.
Adom-Otchere said Nana Konadu Agyeman may use the death of her husband to her advantage as the flagbearer as the National Democratic Party (NDP).
He added that Nana Konadu could also use the opportunity to tell Ghanaians how unfairly the NDC treated and ostracised her husband while he was alive.
Speaking on Good evening Ghana, Adom Otchtere believes that the passing of Rawlings around this period, could cause voters to vote for the his wife who is the flagbearer of the NDP instead of the NDC.
“We think Mrs Rawlings is going to use this weapon to remind the rest of the world, the NDC and the Ghanaian people how her husband has been ostracized from the NDC,” Adom Otchere said.
The host of Good Evening Ghana in a video sighted by YEN.com.gh, was also suspicious of the fact that the New Patriotic Party(NPP) will explore the actions of Mrs Rawlings to their advantage.
“Our suspicion is that the NPP is not going to say much but sit behind Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings and push her as far as they can..,” he added.
Meanwhile, former President John Mahama was prevented from signing a book of condolence in honor of former President Jerry John Rawlings.
Mahama led an NDC delegation to visit the family of Rawlings' on November 13, 2020, to commiserate with them after which they headed to the Accra Conference Centre to sign the book of condolence.
The NDC Chairman, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo disclosed Mahama could not get the opportunity because State Protocol turned him away to return at a scheduled time.
