In the various constituencies, parliamentary candidates are gearing up and doing all they can to make the votes of everyone count in their favor.

1. Ofoase Ayirebi Constituency

The information minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah is the member of parliament for the Ofoase Ayirebi Constituency in the Eastern Region. He was elected on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and won a majority of 17,796 votes to become the MP.

He had represented the constituency in the 7th parliament of the 4th Republic held on the 7th of December 2016. Oppong Nkrumah's predecessor was also from the NPP.

This makes the seat one of the safest seats for the NPP

2.Suame Constituency

The Suame constituency is one of the constituencies that happens to be the safe seats for the NPP. The occupant of the seat of the ticket of the NPP, is the majority leader in parliament, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu.

He has been representing the Suame constituency on the ticket of the NPP since 1996.

His long stay on the Suame seat makes the constituency one of the safest seats of the NPP.

3. Manhyia Constituency

Since 1996, the Manhyia seat has always been won by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and could best be described as one of the safest seats for the party in the region. Kwame Addo-Kufuor won the seat in 1996

In 2008, Mathew Opoku Prempeh won the bid to represent the constituency in parliament and has since been representing them in parliament.

Looking at the long years of representation, there is no shred of doubt that the Manhyia constituency is a safe seat for the NPP.

4. New Juabeng North Constituency

New Juaben North constituency is considered a stronghold for the NPP. Per data compared from 1996 to 2016 elections, the NPP tops continuously; in terms of votes, both presidential and parliamentary.

The incumbent MP, Kwasi Boateng Adjei has been on the seat since 2012.

Looking at the trend, it can be considered as one of the safe seats of the NPP

5. Ablekuma Central Constituency

The Ablekuma Central constituency is considered one of the strongholds of the NPP even though the NDC has occupied the seat twice.

From 1996 to 2004, the NPP occupied the seat. In 2008 and 2012, the NDC occupied the seat. The NPP again recaptured the seat in 2016.

In other news, Lawyer Amanda Clinton, has endorsed the NDC vice-presidential candidate ahead of the December 7 polls.

In a video sighted by YEN.com.gh, Amanda Clinton noted that one of the reasons why she chose to endorse her was her ability to listen to people particularly women.

She also noted in the recorded video that any woman nominated to such a higher office will offer her the opportunity to champion gender policies for the general good of all women in society.
